Seven Mile Beach boasts nearly seven miles of luxurious, white-gold sand. A top Caribbean attraction, it was named one of “Grand Cayman's 3 Best Beaches” by Caribbean Travel and Life.
Situated on Grand Cayman's western shore, it's public property, which means that visitors and locals alike are permitted to walk its entire length. A wide range of resorts, restaurants and bars make their home here for very good reason. Close proximity to the many activities offered on Seven Mile Beach, from watersports to sun bathing, diving, barbecuing and more, is highly valuable to travellers. Ideal for all ages, it's also the perfect spot to snorkel, picnic and enjoy spending time with your family. The reefs nearby the Government House and the Grand Cayman Marriott Hotel are perfect for beginners.
Now only 5.5 miles in length, the beach erodes annually and has slowly reduced in size. While many of the surrounding developments were damaged in 2004 by Hurricane Ivan, most establishments are running at full capacity now, in 2014. In terms of restrictions, open grilling and pets are considered everyday occurrences but public nudity and loud music are frowned upon.
Seven Mile Beach is situated directly north of George Town, the capital of Grand Cayman and a hub of activity. It's the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat, a cultural or historical tour or some shopping. A ways north is West Bay, which is home to Hell and the Turtle Farm, two very popular attractions.
